Evil Ryu Makes His Official Debut In Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition

#StreetFighter

The Evil Ryu secret got let out of the bag some time ago but Capcom used their resources to stuff him right back in that bag and we have not seen or heard about him or his buddy Oni since. This week we heard that Capcom we going to make him official and here he is. Now we get to check him out in direct video and high resolution artwork. So check it out and if you are lucky enough to be near an arcade with Super Street Fighter IV, go give him a workout.

Shin Akuma and Evil Ryu Unimpressively Confirmed

#StreetFighter

So it is true. Evil Ryu and Shin Akuma (a real Shin Akuma, not the watered down one already in SSFIV) are going to be in Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition. The confirmation comes via a new trailer that was recently released by Capcom.

At the end of the trailer above we are shown images of Evil Ryu and Shin Akuma. Though both characters are both visually rather cool looking I can’t help but feel a little shafted if they are indeed representing the last bit of playable fighters we will be getting.

First off, we get Yun and Yang which are basically slight variations on the same fighter mechanics. Now we are shown Evil Ryu and Shin Akuma who would also be variation of already established fighter mechanics. Ironically Akuma and Ryu already share most of the same moves. So in the end it will likely be the same ol crap with a new paint job.

At this point I’m really hoping we get some seriously different fighters added to the game via time release or something or I will be a bit disappointed. Not saying I still wouldn’t play it… cause I would.

The trickle of new alternate costumes for Super Street Fighter IV continues. This time we have Ryu wearing what is, according to Yoshinory Ono, “very Japanese and not Western”. Maybe that’s why he looks like a homeless breakdancer to be.

First Look At Ryu In Tekken X Street Fighter

At Gamescom today Yoshinori Ono and Harada showed off Street Fighter X Tekken. Unfortunately it was the same exact footage that was shown at Comic-Con. However, Harada did see fit to show fans a little of what the Tekken team was cooking up for Tekken X Street Fighter. He displayed for the crowd what Ryu may look like when he appears in the Tekken engine though he admits that the model isn’t quite done and Ryu was even borrowing Paul Pheonix’s gi in the photo as they have not created one for Ryu yet. The ryu model actually looked pretty good except for the fact that he doesn’t look Asian at all but then again, when has he ever truly looked Japanese?

Harada also showed a promo pic which featured Jin and Ryu with Devil Jin and Evil Ryu behind them.
