First Look At Ryu’s New Alternate Costume In Super Street Fighter IV

The trickle of new alternate costumes for Super Street Fighter IV continues. This time we have Ryu wearing what is, according to Yoshinory Ono, “very Japanese and not Western”. Maybe that’s why he looks like a homeless breakdancer to be.

Also we got unblurred versions of Cammy and Juri’s alts.

First Look At Chun Li’s New Aternate Costume

@Yoshi_OnoChin

Fans keep begging Yoshinori Ono to see more upcoming alternate costumes for Super Street Fighter IV and he keep giving them up (even though he says he can get in trouble for doing it. So far he has showed us Sakura, Fei Long and blurred versions of Cammy and Juri. Now we get a shot of Chun Li who is sporting her outfit from the Street Fighter Alpha series. All I can say is Chun Li is built like “DAAAAAAYUM”.

All right, we’re on!Today, put Chun-Li’s new costume art on the Twitter!! I’ll probably be get chewed out by PR. ;P http://bit.ly/9IkXXyless than a minute ago via ついっぷる

The Arcade Version Of Street Fighter IV Gets An Official Name!

@Yoshi_OnoChin

For the longest time we have just been refering to the arcade version of Super Street Fighter IV as just that, the arcade version of Super Street Fighter IV. However it now has an official name and it is superb and grand, Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition. Nice right?

Yoshinori Ono debuted the name via Twitter with the following message…

Just one more effort!! Don’t miss it! ;P http://twitpic.com/2mk4f4less than a minute ago via Twitpic

Many have taken this to mean they are almost done with the game. I kinda got the impression that he was saying this is going to be the last version of Street Fighter IV we get. Of course no one really knows because Ono’s English kinda sucks.

New Super Street Fighter IV Developer Blog Confirms Yun And Yang Being Added

Well, seems like the rumors have been true. Over on the Saikyo Blog Tomoaki Ayano posted and the infamous image of the roller blades and skate board that had showed up in a Japanese magazine in the past few days but with words overlaying saying “What in the world are these!?”. This pretty much confirms that both Yun and Yang are indeed coming to the arcade version of Super Street Fighter IV. Also we were told that more location tests are going to be happening soon at High Tech Land Sega Avion in Osaka on 9/11 and 9/12 it is very likely that we will see these new fighters in action then.

Also Yoshinori Ono posted some pics over on his Twitter that some are saying allows you to see Yun and Yang on the select screen.

Go go, R&D for Arcade Ver. We are making effort !! http://twitpic.com/2kqng2less than a minute ago via Twitpic

Yun And Yang Being Rumored For Street Fighter IV Arcade

You ever here a rumor that is proven to be a rumor only to have it come back and be real? That’s how I’m feeling about this whole thing with Yun and Yang. There were some images floating around that were supposed to be hints as to who was being added to the Super Street Fighter IV arcade version. The images showed roller skates and a skateboard hidden in shadow. Those of course are the trademark modes of transportation of the kung fu twins Yun and Yang. That of course had people saying that the twins were going to be in the game. However those shadowy images were “proven” to be fake. Now it seems they were really real after showing up in Arcadia Magazine. So what’s the deal? At this point I’m not sure. Honestly if there are only going to be two new characters added to this arcade release then I’m a bit disappointed with them being Yun and Tang as they have similar fighting styles but if the rumor about 6 new fighters is true then this may be a bit easier to swallow.

Yoshinori Ono Says He’s Taking New Version of Super Street Fighter IV To Tougeki

We now that Yoshinori Ono is planning to show something with Super Street Fighter IV at the Tokyo Game Show. Chances are we will at least get a glimpse of a new character or two. Seems like he’s going on a bit of a tour showing off this new version as he has announced on his Twitter page that he will be showing off this new version of Super Street Fighter IV at Tougeki also.

Yes. We’ll have plan that set on SSF IV New Ver.in Tougeki. RT @zenga83: ono san, are you going to attend this year’s tougeki?less than a minute ago via ついっぷる

Tougeki takes place on September 18th. It’s dates actually overlap those of the Tokyo Game show. So it looks like Ono will be doing quite a bit of running around.

Let The Wild Goose Chase For New Fighters In Super Street Fighter IV Begin!

We’ve known for some time now that the arcade version of Super Street Fighter IV was getting at least two new fighters (though we have heard rumors that it may be up to six). That info came from the local test of the arcade machine which showed two blank slots on the fighter select screen. Yoshinori Ono himself acknowledged this himself when he was questioned about it but only said that we’d find out more about the new fighters at a later date. Now, on the Street Fighter IV blog producer Tomoaki Ayano talked about the blank slots and even showed one up close and asked fans if they reconized who the sillouette is. Of course this sent the community into a frenzy as they tried to figure out what character may fit into the mystery fighters outline. Some have even been trying to showhorn their own personal wish list in there.

“Could be Mike Haggar going bald”

“I think it is Rolento without his beret”

It’s all a wild goose chase though because a close look at the blank slots would reveal that they both look exactly the same. Which means that we are either getting Seth’s brothers 22 and 17 or the blackened slots are just placeholders and not a real indication of what characters are going to be coming to the game.

Capcom Auctions Off Super Street Fighter IV Pre Order Items

When Super Street Fighter IV was about to be released there were a number of pre-order bonuses out there depending on where you reserved your game. Many people went for the free pack of alternate costume DLC that came with the game if you got it from Amazon. However if you got the game from Gamestop you got Thumb Fighters. Basically there were little sleeves you put on your thumbs so you can thumb wrestle. Kinda corny if you ask me but since there are two or three hardcore collectors that have been trying to get their hands on these things, Capcom is offering them on their auction page. So go ahead and head over there and waste your money .

Ono Says No Poison For Super Street Fighter IV And Any New Fighters Wont Have Stories

In a move that is sure to disapoint quite a few. Yoshinori Ono has said that Poison won’t be making it into Super Street Fighter IV.

Ever since people have heard about new characters being added for the arcade version of Super Street Fighter IV, folks have been tryin gto figure out who will be added. As usual everyone is hoping for their own personal favorites. And of course some people wanted Final Fight’s Poison. Poison has gained quite a bit of popularity due to the fact that her backstory has her being either a transvestite or a transexual. Of course such a background has also made it so her in game appearances have been a bit limited.

Hahaha, At this moment it doesn’t seem likely,I’ll do it yet. :D RT @Humpski: You are putting POISON in the game right? Everybody wants her!less than a minute ago via ついっぷる

Ono also announced that any new fighters added to Super Street Fighter IV likley won’t have any storyline elements such as intros and endings.

Ummm, We dont have Storage… :( RT @SickCase: For the new characters in SSFIV, will they have storylines/intro anime videos for Arcade?less than a minute ago via ついっぷる

Ono Strongly Hints At R. Mika Appearing In Super Street Fighter IV

Yoshinori Ono has been tweeting away lately and his been dropping some interesting hints about who may be showing up in the Super Street Fighter IV arcade edition.

Yun and Yang need to be in Super Street Fighter 4, can you make that happen?

Ono: Oh!, it [would be] nice! I want them too, but I really want Rainbow Mika [in the game]. ;P

Do you remember Karin from Street Fighter Alpha 3? Does she have any hope of being in SSF4?

Ono: Of course, I remember Karin, Mika too. :)

Oh!, it’s nice! I want them too. But I really want MIKA ;P RT @iTombz yun and yang need to be in ssf4, can u ever make that happen?less than a minute ago via TwitBird

Of couse, I remember Karin, Mika too. :) RT @Leon_Switch Remember girl fromAlpha3namedKarin?Does she have any hope of being onSSFIVever?less than a minute ago via TwitBird

We know already that the arcade version is getting at least two new character and there is a rumor saying that is may be up to six. Either way I’m not too surprised to see R. Mika as a strong contender. Ono has said several times in the past that he was a fan of the character and was sad that she hadn’t made the cut for Super Street Fighter IV already. Personally I’m not too big of a fan of Mika’s. Design wise or gameplay wise but like I’ve said in the past most of my favs have already made it into Super so I’m open to having anyone added at this point.
